The weekly Drawing Social held by local artist and teacher Ted Michalowski at the AfA Gallery in downtown Scranton was the place to be at this past Sunday night! Exotic improvisational percussion music played in tune all night long as belly dancers danced across the floor in their elegant dresses. The Australian outback style music set the perfect tone for a highly energetic night of music, dancing and drawing. The show drew in quite a crowd as some came to draw and some just came to enjoy the awesome music played by the talented musicians. The didgeridoo instruments produced a one of a kind sound that was not only interesting to listen to but also interesting to watch them being played. Guests were also greeted by a friendly pup named Grimm who later in the show even tried out belly dancing. The sounds of the didgeridoos played in perfect harmony with tribal drums, guitars and the Theremin. Check out the photos from the show! Drawing socials run every Sunday night from 6-9pm at the AfA Gallery, 514 Lackawanna Ave in Scranton. A small admission fee of $5.00 is asked and with student ID the fee is reduced to $2.00. For more information on drawing socials and upcoming performances contact Ted Michalowski.
