This past weekend on Saturday June 5th Nay Aug Park was the host of ‘Bark at Nay Aug Park’ which was an Adopt-A-Thon and Dog Walk to benefit local animal shelters and animal rescues. The goal of the event was to help find good homes for precious homeless animals and raise awareness to fight back against animal cruelty like that of Amish puppy mills and other types of cruelty. Groups from all over the U.S. were in attendance to raise awareness and give support to the cause. The event also offered great food, raffles, live music by Jackson Vee and Mike Barrese, pet photos, a motorcycle ride, pet massage therapists, veterinarians, vet techs, groomers, pet sitters, trainers and boutiques. Registration started at 10am with a cost of $5 and the event lasted until 4pm. Some of the many vendors and rescues included the Animal Care Association, Abington Veterinary Center, Puppy Love Bakery, Mercy for Animals, Carin Rescue Network, The NEPA Animal Adoption Network, Parrots Rescue & Adoption and the Wyoming Valley Dog Owners Group. Any one was welcome to attend the event and walk their dog for a great cause. For more information on upcoming benefit walks and events you can contact Jessica at Jessbobtz@yahoo.com or Michele at rescuepet4u2love@gmail.com or go to www.rescuepet4u2love.com. One upcoming event to look into would be Rock the Horse 2010 to benefit the R.E.A.S.O.N Horse Rescue. The event is planned to be held at The New Penny Lounge in Scranton Pa. Great article and photos. Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network link (www.cairnrescue.com) on the web site doesn't work. Can we fix it?
    Thanks Amy
