The Bartlett Art Open House is a pop up shop, one day only exhibition of works by a diverse group of Texas artists. The open house will be at Danny Clark Photography Studio from noon to 8 P.M. on June 29th.
Five Texas artists are joining together for a day of exhibition and networking. Hosted by Danny Clark, the exhibition includes paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media. The artists participating are: Cliff Gillock, Kay Clark, Gonzo247, Danny Clark and Kristen Eide.
Cliff Gillock is a full time studio painter of landscapes and still life with oil being his primary medium. His paintings reflect travels around the country with the emphasis on the sea shore and water's edge. He majored in commercial art at the University of Houston as well as studied at The Glassel School and The Art League of Houston. His studio is #25 at Winter Street Studios.
Kay Clark, a native of Corpus Christi, has been painting for over thirty years and has been fortunate enough to see the world because of her work. The influence of many cultures is reflected in her paintings and her paintings are a celebration of the joy found in diversity. She studied art in the San Francisco Bay Area, designed textiles in New York City, and did GA designing and manufacturing decorative accessories for the home in Rome. She currently resides in the Texas Hill Country.
GONZO247 is a native Houstonian who was exposed to graffiti and began his pursuit as an artist in 1984. These days he maintains a street, urban and graffiti art gallery, Aerosol Warfare; practices his own artwork and supports other art organizations and artists. GONZO247 has established a Houston Wall of Fame (the city's largest art production of its kind) and has worked with top brands like Converse, Red Bull, Coca Cola and Sony on advertising campaigns that speak to urban communities. Recently he has taught at the Art League Houston, Rice University, Kipp Academy, Eastwood Academy and other institutions.
Danny Clark is a full time Houston-based portrait artist that has become well known for his modern style of family and pet photography. A native Texan, Danny has spent years photographing West Texas and the Gulf Coast. His work is a visual journey to places rarely seen and seldom visited. Danny believes that, "imagery creates emotion and emotion feeds the soul." His day job is Danny Clark Photography Studio where he works with Houstonians to create breathtaking portraits of their families for their homes and businesses.
Kristen Eide is a young up and coming designer and artist. As an artist and illustrator, she focuses on the human form, observing fashion as an identity to character. She accomplishes her illustrations with water color and ink. Kristen received a B.F.A. in photography at the University of Iowa and studied fashion design at Parsons Paris.
