If you are looking to escape the dreadful Wisconsin winter, or maybe dive into the beauty of landscapes regardless of the season, then head over to the Northern Waters Gallery at 310 Pine St in Green Bay to see the Peninsula Plein Air Painters exhibit.
The term “Plein Air” translated from French means “in the open air”, meaning it is the art of painting outdoors. This group of independent painters are dedicated to preserving the “open air” concept by educating the public via workshops, enticing, by having frequent paint-outs (a group of painters go on location) as well as other special events to promote and encourage participation in this type of painting.
The artists included in this exhibit are J. Leatham, R. Rassmussen, G.Gerber and W. Doyle. The exhibit will be available through February 2010 and it’s free of charge. The gallery is open from Monday-Friday 10am-4pm. Check it out and get inspired.
