Tea Party movement aims to inspire revolution

A truly disconcerting image- confirmed locations for Tax Day Tea Parties

April 15th.

Write that date down; people- it could very well mark the beginning of the end. With the notoriously conservative Tea Party movement gaining steam, is it time to take the ‘United’ out of ‘United States’?

An off-the-cuff and seemingly harmless comment from CNBC drone Rick Santelli- who called for a Chicago ‘Tea Party’ in response to Obama’s handling of the worsening economic situation- has now developed into a full-blown national movement.

On April 15th, hundreds of thousands of PO’d red meat eatin’ Americans will converge on the streets to protest the Obama administration’s policies and platforms. Over 360 cities nationwide have been confirmed as protest staging points, and conservative luminaries like Newt Gingrich and Sean ‘Rough Rider’ Hannity will lend their considerable girth and celebrity to ensure a sense of bloated spectacle.

The Tea (Taxed Enough Already) Party-people consider themselves a coherent and diverse network of Americans from every conceivable walk of life. They are cultural warriors fighting against the tax-happy, spend-happy ways of the evil Obama cabal, real American patriots, and staunch defenders against the creeping evils of Socialism.

In reality, their ‘movement’ is incredibly divisive, a mindset that stands in sharp contrast to Obama’s calls for bipartisanship in this time of great national need. Their arguments have the potential to divide the country along titanic lines not seen since the bloody days of the Civil War.

Think I’m exaggerating here? The Tea Party movement is an incredibly dangerous concept, fuelled by the usual gushes of sycophantic support from the conservative news media (here’s looking at you, Fox). Consider a recent poll posted on Sean Hannity’s website, asking his loyal followers if they thought America was ripe for ‘revolution’. Or perhaps you’ve heard some of the vitriolic treasonous crap spewing forth from the mouth of Fox’s resident white-haired lunatic, He Who Shall Go Unnamed. You can tune in to his show practically any day of the week for an (increasingly) thinly veiled call to arms against the President and his evil liberal cronies.

The Tea Party Movement is basically a flag for Republicans disenfranchised by last year’s election results to rally behind. Give it up, guys. You lost fair and square. Obama and his policies have the mandate of the people- unlike a certain Bush I could mention.

If the country continues down this dark path, a second Civil War might not just be a cool idea for a sci-fi novel anymore. Can you imagine the potential for chaos if some of these ‘protesters’ decide to exercise the Second Amendment and bring their weapons to these rallies? There’s a thin line between peaceful protest and bloodthirsty patriotic fervor, especially if those protesting are used to being on the side of the mighty status quo.

I hope April 15th comes and goes without major incident. And I hope the protesters fail in their mission to bring their message to a national audience. It’s a message of fear, prejudice and, quite frankly, hate.

President Obama was elected democratically, according to the doctrines set forth by the Founding Fathers. The Tea Party movement represents a real danger to the tenets of democracy Americans have embraced for centuries.

There are now only 1351 days left until the End of the World.

The Conservatives are the ones who kept saying "America Love it or Leave it" the past eight years, so if they don't love it, they should leave it.

The problem with that is most of the civilized world is more Liberal then the US. To go someplace more conservative they would have to head to Iran.

So, I'd give them a break- if those nutjobs want their own country, let them have Alaska.

There is a difference between loving what you already have, and some traitors coming around to ruin it. You dont go into someones house and demand they change their whole ideology and then tell them if they dont like it to leave.

The Constitution is a contract, if you violate it, you are in breach of contract, and all agreements are null and void, if you dont like freedom so much, you traitors should be the ones leaving, to somewhere more comfortable like China. They have what you are aiming for.
As far as the tea parties, they are not republicans or conservatives, they are freedom lovers, the republicans are trying to co-opt them to keep us all from banding together to fight against tyrrany.

If you go against what this country stands for, you are a traitor, what forking part of the constitution is so unbearable to you forktards anyways?

Free speech? Your using it now.
Self defense? Only an idiot would put his life in the hands of revenue workers (police).
No quartering of troops in your house? You want the cops or military showing up at your house and kicking you out so they could be comfy while you freeze?
Freedom from unreasonable search? You want your every move questioned by the government?
Due process? You want to disappear with no recourse?
Trial by jury? You want arbitrary law?

The list goes on people, what forking part of the Constitution is so unbearable?

    That's a lie. You're a liar, brad.

To go someplace more conservative they would have to head to Iran.
American conservatism wants less government, not more. We want classical liberalism. Maybe if you weren't such a provincial progressive, you'd know what the word "liberal" means in the rest of the English speaking world.

Obama and his policies have the mandate of the people
Obama was elected after pledging to end the war in Iraq, lower taxes on 95% of the country, bring new faces to government, and run the most ethical administration ever. If he were doing any one of those things, you could make a weak argument that his policies had a mandate. Unfortunately, he's even more of a liar than you are.

Bush won in 2000 and by greater margins in 2004. The left embraced conspiracy theories to reject his legitimacy for all eight. Obama wins by a narrow margin and immediately proceeds to embrace middle and lower class taxes, confiscation of private industry, legalization of 40 million aliens, dismantling of our missile and nuclear deterrence immediately following a North Korean exercise and numerous other actions not part of his campaign promises. And we're told to "shut up and sit down"?

Having not held the criminals accountable for the economic plight (Fannie & Freddie) and instead rewarding and empowering them, you on the left are faced with two options: reform or deal with our rebellion. Fortunately the great Republican Thomas Jefferson validates our demand for an end to this economic tyranny and political corruption.

How do I know we will prevail? Because we're the only ones paying the checks. Without us, you go hungry. No soup for you.

The Tea Party movement is pretty amazing.

Bipartisan? Yup, unlike Wyatt Shev and his circle jerk of friends, the Tea Party contains people of all political persuasions.

Even more amazing, it's getting Republicans, most of whom have never protested anything in their entire life (think about that, oh professional protester), out of their comfy chair and out in the streets.

When the protesters are actually employed at real jobs and have real lives (in stark contrast to the usual gang of underachievers that get protest permits), it's something a real journalist would have interest in exploring.

Looks like most of the real journalists are working for Fox News, the only fair network anywhere.

Basic principle: thieves should be shot. When the government acts outside its constitutional powers, it forces its revenue agents into the role of thieves, and the government loses legitimacy, becoming a Racketeer Influenced Corrupt organization. I didn't write the Constitution. I didn't vote for the programs which violated it. I didn't come up with the interpretations that permitted a frog that lives its whole life in California, and which is in no product, no trade, and no commerce to justify regulations on property that is wholly within California under the rubric of "interstate commerce'.

So put the blame where it belongs. On the thieves.

Obama has turned his loyal opposition into a force completely and utterly opposed to everything he does. Bipartisan? Nonpartisan? Obama is the most partisan President since maybe FDR. Maybe longer. He is hyper partisan. And everyone outside the Church of Obama knows it.

We have been told ad nauseum that 'dissent is the highest form of patriotism'

Yet when their oposition threatens to dissent, it is a danger to the country. You bloody hypocrits.
