Democrats attack government health care opponents as angry mob

Americans are increasingly becoming participants in a growing, vocal opposition to the health care proposal of President Barack Obama. Concerned over what they perceive is an effort by the the President and Democrats to railroad government health care through the Congress, whether the people want it or not, the protestors have taken to the streets and voiced their frustration at town hall meetings across the country.  One would surmise that the Democrats, long claiming to be the defenders of free speech, would welcome a vigorous debate.  After all, the American town hall is a symbol of democracy and freedom.  Unfortunately for opponents of government health care, expressing one's ideas is no longer an honorable characteristic of American citizenship in the minds of the Democrats.

Claiming that the protestors are sabotaging the debate over health care, even claiming that government health care opponents are part of an angry mob, is a desperate attempt to rescue a plan which will threaten the quality and availability of health care and add trilliions of dollars to the federal debt.  Over their inability to convince even some of their own party members to support a government takeover of the American health insurance system, let alone persuade the average American citizen to buy into socialized medicine, Democrats have lashed out at those who dare to speak out against the government health plan.  In her darkest moment as Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi even claimed that some of the town hall protestors wear swastikas

President Obama and his fellow Democrats have not only embarked on an official campaign to denigrate and discredit the validity of their opponent’s ideas, but they cannot even accept the notion that Americans averse to government health insurance are sincere in their beliefs. The President claims the protests are manufactured by conservative organizations, yet another attempt to characterize the activists as incapable of generating their own independent thoughts. Mr. Rick Scott, chairman of the group Conservatives for Patients’ Rights, reminded the Obama administration that there is no need to manufacture opposition to government health care when the vast majority of Americans are satisfied with the private system and fear the ramifications of a government takeover.

The progressive-socialists cannot accept the fact that any intelligent, civilized human being in the twenty-first century would hold onto what they believe to be the archaic and outdated ideas of individualism, liberty, and capitalism.  In order to realize their agenda, the Democrats need conformity and submission to their ideas and power.  While liberals claim to be the guardians of free speech and expression, their characterization of health care opponents as an angry mob is not merely a catchphrase. They actually believe that anyone who does not embrace their ideas is part of a lower class of people who do not have the intellectual capability to partake in a public expression of political ideas.  Rather than recognizing the value and necessity of differing opinions in a free society, Democrats seek to demonize anyone who stands in their way. Instead of listening to their constituents and perhaps respecting the valid concerns of the people they represent, people such as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid seek to silence the voice of opposition.

More information: A Quinnipiac poll reveals that Americans oppose goverment health care by a wide margin.  In another Quinnipiac poll, the president's approval has dropped to 50%.  A Rasmussen poll reveals that 80% of Americans approve of their health insurance plan.  A video of an AARP meeting show how the organization attempts to silence seniors who oppose government health care.

    I cannot remember any time in my life the US Government saying such things against the American people. NEVER!
    It is a terrible move on their part but I hope they keep it up. 2010 is just around the corner. And being called a swastika carrying Nazi by Pelosi will NOT be forgotten.

    Did Pelosi or Reid have a statement on this group assault on our last SoS?

    This is what you read into the poll?????...." A Quinnipiac poll reveals that Americans oppose goverment health care by a wide margin."

    What the poll actually says..."There is still strong support for critical elements of the Obama/Democratic plan:
    62 - 32 percent in favor of giving people the option of a government insurance plan;
    61 - 36 percent for higher taxes on high income earners to pay for health care reform;
    60 - 32 percent in favor of insurance subsidies for individuals making up to $43,000 and families of four making up to $88,000;
    54 - 38 percent for requiring businesses to provide insurance or pay the government "

    Who are the “organized” ones?

    www.pww.org/article/articleview/16663/

    This is from The People’s Weekly World.

    A COMMUNIST Party USA publication. But no, we can’t associate Obama with the Communists now can we?

    “The AFL-CIO has called on its union affiliates to defend lawmakers’ health care reform Town Hall meetings from “Corporate…mob rule” in recent days.”

    “AFL-CIO President John Sweeney sent out a memo this week outlining a blue-print for union members to counter the campaign of fear and intimidation in which hired thugs are infiltrating health care town hall meetings to heckle, disrupt and even physically assault health care reform advocates.

    Obama is getting his unions and fellow Communists to counter us. Bring it on.

    CNN did a live poll last night. Here are the results on Obama’s first 200 days.

    Not what they expected I am sure. I do not believe too many conservatives were watching CNN either.

    ONLY 29% give Obama an A and 52% an D or F!!

    WHO is being paid to organize?

    Dear MoveOn member,

    It’s getting ugly out there.

    All across the country, right-wing extremists are disrupting congressional town-hall meetings with venomous attacks on President Obama’s plans for health care and clean energy.

    We’ve got a plan to fight back against these radical right-wingers. We’ve hired skilled grassroots organizers who are working with thousands of local volunteers to show Congress that ordinary Americans continue to support President Obama’s agenda for change. And we’re building new online tools to track events across the country and make sure MoveOn members turn out at each one.

    But we need to scale up our efforts quickly to make sure this plan works. To really swing into action during this month’s congressional recess, we need to raise at least $250,000 immediately. Can you chip in $15 to support our work?

    ITS WORKING AND WE ARE BEING HEARD!!!

    KEEP UP THE PRESSURE.

    Obama Open to Creation of Health Cooperatives

    President Barack Obama may accept nonprofit health-insurance cooperatives in place of a new government-run plan as long as consumers are guaranteed more choice and competition in buying insurance, a top aide said.

    “We would be interested in that” if those conditions are met, Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television’s “Conversations with Judy Woodruff” airing today.

    This is a very scary time in America. Useful idiots of the extreme right are being bussed to town hall meetings by HMO lobbyists to wave swastikas, threaten violence and disrupt the debate. The rethugs have no plan so they want to shout down those who do have a plan. Already some lunatic in New Mexico is calling on the birther mob to go armed to these town hall meetings and kill anyone they suspect of being involved with Acorn or SEIU. It's only a question of time before people are killed. The rethugs and the HMO lobbyists will have blood on their hands. They're not politicians any more, they're terrorists.

    One has to wonder at an organized attemot to stifle debate. These town hall disruptions are so in character with the Talk Hate Radio venue that the right worships and adores.

    Brian, you should take the time to carefully consider the results of the last election cycle. The GOP is now the Incredible Shrinking Party and to use terms such as "The American People" in your article to describe a small, though vocal, minority is quite disingenuous.
