News has it that Paris Hilton has adopted a pot-bellied pig, one of the teacup or mini varieties, and she has already named it. The new Miss Hilton piggy will be Princess Pigelette. She is black and white and born in Oregon. The breeder will hand deliver the pig to Paris when the pig is nine weeks old.
The pot-bellied pig is a breed of domesticated pig originating in Vietnam. The pig can live anywhere in the United States, especially if it has a nice "bed" of hay and is protected from outside weather conditions.
The pot-bellied pig, or any small version of it, is smaller than standard American or European farm pigs and most adult pot-bellied pigs are about the size of a medium- or large-breed dog, approximately running from 60 to 300 pounds.
Pot-bellied pigs can be easily recognized from other pig breeds by their size, upright ears and straight tail. Pigs with fat rolls over their eyes or a belly that touches the ground make it easy to see that the pig is overweight. For Hilton's sake the pig she adopts will be of the small variety.

Boy, those pigs are big looking. I hope hers does not grow up that big! But I bet they are not the mini variety.
Yummy!
