Ashley Nicole has worked in the rescue world since 1998 when she first volunteered for a local shelter known as Second Chance in Central, Illinois. Her first rescue was a cat she adopted named "Sunny". He was Ashley's oldest friend and lived with her for 13 years. Ashley's volunteer work expanded to helping at everything from adoption events, to cleaning kennels and assisting in the various searching and rescuing of animals from various conditions.
After Ashley enrolled in college at Illinois State University, she chose to enlist in the United States Army and served on Active Duty for several years. During Ashley's enlistment, she was deployed to Iraq and served on various convoy missions throughout Baghdad and the surrounding region. Ashley continued assisting in rescue while she was deployed by contributing through various forms of donations and networking with rescues across the United States and abroad. After Ashley got out of the military, she chose to take her career in the direction of film and photography. Ashley has also been passionately driven to saving the lives of any animal she can. She has seen both the good and the bad of animal rescue and has petitioned to Congress for a new law to be passed entitled "Apollo's Law" to protect people from having their pets illegally seized. Ashley is currently involved in fighting her own legal battle to regain custody of her dogs who were wrongfully taken from her. She is determined to do anything she can to ensure that her voice and the voice of others who were wronged whether they are people or animals are heard.
