Classy K9 Cuts, at the SW corner of Legacy and Independence, is a different breed of dog grooming salon. Owners Lisa Roberts and Roberto Melgar
groom the best of local show dogs and some of the most pitiful rescues imaginable. All dogs (and their owners) are treated with the same care and respect.
No assembly line grooming is done here. After years of working in grooming salons where dogs were bathed and left to dry in cages for many hours, often shivering and traumatized, Lisa and Roberto decided to offer a kinder grooming experience. Dogs are groomed by appointment only. A limited number of dogs are scheduled per hour, so there is never an "overload." Each dog is bathed, hand-dried, and groomed within 1-2 hours. The dogs are happier, and the testimonials on their web site prove their owners are too. Diane Vasil of Plano writes, "Classy K9 Cuts was suggested to me by my vet, Dr. Alan Ward, and it was the best suggestion for dog grooming that I have encountered for many years. The other fantastic offering from Classy K9 Cuts is the price, almost half of what I was paying before." Nancy Readel of Richardson writes, "You can count on Classy K9 Cut to provide exceptional customer service, quality grooming, relaxing surroundings and so much more. They adapt their shop and services to the needs of their canine customers and human customers alike."

Several rescue groups count on Classy K9 Cuts to groom their rescues. Heidi Hancock, a volunteer with DFW Tzus and More Rescue writes, "Lisa Roberts with Classy K9 Cuts has been grooming my personal and foster dogs for over a year and I would not go any place else. She groomed 3 foster dogs that my group rescued from the Montague County puppy mill that was busted last summer. None of them were used to human contact, let alone being groomed. Lisa and her staff worked patiently with all of them and they came back looking like new dogs."
"My current foster is an owner surrender who was severely abused." writes Heidi. "He is 8 months old and terrified of people although I have had him for over 2 months." Lisa will be grooming him this week.
When given the choice of taking your pet to a "conveyor belt" grooming facility that charges a hefty price for keeping your dog most of the day or Classy K9 Cuts, the choice should be obvious. Customer satisfaction and happy dogs are the medals they earn for quality, compassionate grooming. We are lucky they chose to locate in Plano.
