There's a new flying character in town!
Everyone knows what a magical place Disneyland of Anaheim can be. But this doesn’t stop Disney’s Imagineers and entertainment specialists from amazing guests in new and unique ways everyday. This summer, as part of the Disney Resorts’ summer-long celebration called ‘Nightastic’ a new fireworks show, Magical will be replacing the show Remember starting tonight until August 25th.
What’s the difference between these firework spectaculars? Besides a new theme, “Wishing makes your dreams come true”, this show introduces a new flying character. While Tinkerbell continues to host this event, Dumbo gracefully glides in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle to music from the movie, including the song “Baby Mine”.
All of the solos of the 15 minute medley of songs from films such as Peter Pan, Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, and of course, Dumbo is sung by Broadway star Eden Espinosa, a native of Anaheim Hills. Espinosa is very aware of the enchanting effect that Disneyland has on its guests of all ages, especially since she held her first job as a performer at Disneyland! “I worked a lot of special events and stage shows around the park as a member of one of the a cappella groups”, Espinosa recalls. What was this world renowned musician’s favorite part? “I don’t want to ruin it for anyone, but actually seeing Dumbo fly out was much better than expected. Watching the whole event come together was just amazing”.
Eden Espinosa will be performing her solo concert, “Me”, at the Ford Amphitheater in West Hollywood on July 24th. For more info, visit her official facebook fan site.
If you’re a Southern California Resident, don’t forget to pick up a “3-day Summer Fun Pass” for only $99! This 3-day, two-park admission pass is available at most supermarket chains, Disneyland.com, Disney Stores, and at the park’s box office. As an added bonus, the “Fun Pass” can be upgraded to an annual passport. If you are considering visiting the parks all year long, the $99 can be applied as credit towards one of the passport options at the Annual Pass processing center, or at the ticket booth.
