Cheri, of the website Kitchen Simplicity, is a wife, mother and Canadian living in Norway. She loves to cook, bake, decorate, and serve. Growing up with three brothers, she says she wanted to be a tomboy and, therefore, never gave cooking much interest. Since leaving her parents' nest, she has fallen deeper and deeper in love with cooking. Cheri says, "My main passion is simple foods, quick and tasty without sacrifice. I am a self learning, simplistic, culinary proclaimed, amateur trying to shore along the way and make your cooking easy too!"
Cheri is an expert at creating modest, yet elegant meals for your family and guests. For example, check out her recipes for Cajun Grilled Pork Chops with Creamy Mushroom Pan Sauce, Rhubarb Crunch Coffee Cake, and Caramel Cappuccino Walnut Bars.
Today Cheri shares her Southwestern Ranch Dressing with us. She states, "[it] is better then any Southwestern Dressing I have tried. The bottled stuff just doesn’t cut it for me and I am always left disappointed. The flavours in this dressing were exactly as always I imagined it should be.
The smokiness from the cumin and a little spice from the jalapeno and hot pepper sauce add such a wonderful warmth and depth of flavour that is distinctly Tex Mex, while the dill, parsley and garlic powder make it undesputably a ranch dressing. I have made this often since discovering the recipe and will continue to, as it has replaced the old 'boring' ranch dressing in my house." Cheri also says this dressing helps her eat all her vegetables - the total package!
