America's Next Top Model has televised thirteen cycles with over 150 models participating in the competition. We've seen some girls that can really walk right off the bat, and others who have never even worn a pair of heels before being on the show. Some girls started out really weak, but got better, and others were fierce right from the start.
Below, you'll find the Top 10 models who I feel have the fiercest walks. They are in no specific order.
Bre Scullark Cycle 5 |
Some people might remember Bre for the whole granola bar incident with Nicole Linkletter, but Bre was a fine walker as well. She was praised for it often, and she was asked back the following Cycle to teach the girls how to walk on uneven pavement. Photo © UPN |
Natasha Galkina Cycle 8 |
Probably the thing I remember most about Natasha, in regards to her runway walk, is during the runway show in the finale, when she was wearing that short leather skirt, and she felt it start to slip off, she didn't let it affect her walk. She just kept on walking and stepped right out of the skirt. Fierce! Photo © The CW |
Melrose Bickerstaff Cycle 7 |
No matter if you like or dislike Melrose, you have to admit, the girl can definitely walk! In the finale in Cycle 7, she actually was preferred over Cycle 7 winner CariDee English when it came to her walk. Photo © The CW |
Joanie Dodds Cycle 6 |
Anyone who has watched Cycle 6 of America's Next Top Model can't forget the challenge the judges gave the girls during panel--to walk in 10" heels. Most of the girls had problems with the shoes, including Kari, who nearly broke her ankle several times (and made it to my Top 10 Worst Walks on America's Next Top Model list. Danielle fell several times, including once behind the wall, where she sprained her toe and had to walk on crutches when she came back for judging. Joanie was flawless in the shoes, like she was walking in them all her life. Joanie also did well in a panel challenge involving walking and turning like you were on a runway, where nearly everyone else did poorly. Photo © UPN |
Naima Mora Cycle 4 |
I can't think of Naima without remembering her super confident struff in the final challenge when she and Kahlen had to walk on water. She describes feeling "super human" during that final runway, and she certainly looked it. Photo © UPN |
Eva Pigford Cycle 3 |
Miss Eva may not be the tallest girl in the bunch, but the girl can definitely strut her stuff. In the first runway lesson from Miss J, the girls had to walk with a book on their head, and many of them could not do it without the book falling, but Eva had no problem at all. Later that evening, the girls walked in a Heatherette fashion show where Eva rocked the show and won the challenge. Photo © UPN |
Jaslene Gonzales Cycle 8 |
Who could forget spicey Jaslene's audition with Tyra and the Jay's, where she said, "I walk like this all day, every day," when she walked out of the room, showing her fierce walk. In the finale runway show, Natasha did well, but Jaslene was the star. Photo © The CW |
Celia Ammerman Cycle 12 |
Celia has long been a favorite of mine, and her walk is definitely fierce. During the go-see challenge, the designers commented that she had a great sense of style and an elegant walk. Photo © The CW |
Chantal Jones Cycle 9 |
While Chantal is mostly known for her All-American looks, and has been compared to Cheryl Tiegs, she also was a strong walker, who was brought back as a walking example, along with fellow Cycle 9 model Bianca Golden, in Cycle 12. Who can forget the finale in China, where there were extras walking on stilts on either side of the runways, and Chantal's train caught one of the extra's stilts and brought him to the ground. It made her lose her concentration for a short bit, but she regained her composure and continued with the runway. Photo © The CW |
Saleisha Stowers Cycle 9 |
Saleisha came into the competition with some previous experience, and right from the start had a very strong runway walk. When the girls visited Miss J's runway teach, he said that Saleisha had good control and a nice strut, with a good gait. Photo © The CW |
