After 11 weeks of challenges, the two finalists in the season finale were Nicole and Laura. Both girls had similar critiques of being great when they were photographed, but not having great personalities otherwise. In the final episode, both girls faced the challenge of filming their CoverGirl commercial. They receive their scripts, and Nicole is confident that she will do fine, while Laura is worried because of her dyslexia.

The next day, the girls are shuttled to a rain forest, where they meet with Mr. Jay, and then get to meet Season 12 winner, Teyona. Nigel Barker will photograph the girls still shots, and Nicole goes first. She seems to do well, while Laura is filming the CoverGirl commercial at the same time. Things don't go too well for Laura at first, but she finally pulls it out of the bag and delivers. She's really proud of herself, saying that she feels she has won over her dyslexia.

Nicole is next to film her commercial, and she actually has some problems. Mr. Jay wasn't all that impressed, feeling that she sounded snobby. At the same time, Laura is now with Nigel, doing her still shots, and she does pretty well, but not outstanding.

A knock on the door brings Ann Shoket from Seventeen magazine, there to film the girls Seventeen cover, with Gilles Bensimon. At the end of the shoot, Ann says that it's too close to call, as she thinks both girls did really well.

The next day will bring the fashion show where the girls will pose in different elements. But first, Tyra drops by to chat with each of the girls. Nicole reveals that she's so excited that as a 5'7" model, she's so lucky to have the opportunity to compete, and Laura reveals that she received a letter from her grandmother, who tells her how proud she is of her, which brings her to tears.

Later, the girls arrive at the fashion show, to find that their former competitors, Sundai, Brittany, Jennifer and Erin are there, and they'll also walk in the show. Teyona will also walk in the show, and she actually starts it off.

The second walk is "wind," and the girls are draped with large scarves, and they have to walk against the wind machine. The final theme is "water," and they are showered with it as they walk in short, blue outfits.

After the show is over, Tyra comes to congratulate both girls and tell them how proud she is. Then, it's off to judging, where each model is critiqued on their runway performance, CoverGirl commercial and still shot, and their whole portfolio.

After the judges deliberate, they announce the winner as Nicole. After hugging her and congratulating her, she walks over to where Laura is bawling her eyes out, and tells her how proud she is of her.

It's been a great season for the shorties, and I'm sure that Nicole will have a sparkling career ahead of her. Laura too, even though she didn't win, should be signed by an agency.
