Aveion Malik Lewis update: police say boy is dead, Brandon Lockett in custody (Amber Alert canceled)

Aveion Malik Lewis update: police say boy is dead, Brandon Lockett in custody (Amber Alert canceled)

There are new developments in the case of Aveion Malik Lewis. Though a Virginia Amber Alert has been issued for the two-year-old, police now state that Brandon Lockett, Aveion’s stepfather, confessed that Aveion was dead and that he made up the abduction story. Police have announced that they are now handling the case as a death investigation. The Amber Alert for Aveion Malik Lewis has been canceled.

Aveion Lewis’ body has not been found and the investigation has turned into a full scale search for his body. At this time, Brandon Lockett has not been charged but is in custody being questioned.
While the search for Aveion continued, many had stated their initial doubts regarding the step-father’s story as well as his demeanor.

Some of the statements that Brandon Lockett made did not ring true with many readers. Comments have been made on television programs and Internet forums regarding Brandon Lockett’s demeanor as well. There were also parallels between Brandon Lockett’s account of the kidnapping and the Jon Benet Ramsey case.

Though the family lived in the projects in Virginia, Lockett had claimed a ransom note was left on the back of a bill that the kidnappers found in the home. The family did not have money, yet the ransom note was for $10,000. There was also no additional information or further contact, where the money was to be left or deposited.

Now the case has turned to finding Aveion’s body and what charges Brandon Lockett will face after Aveion is found and an autopsy is conducted determining the cause of death.

What evever may happen to this story I pray that the truth will be revealed. No matter what those birth parents have no right to do that to any child, let alone any parent who thinks it's okay to abuse a child is uncalled for and most be brought to justice no matter what.
