Living beings have physical and more subtle energetic layers to their bodies.
Animals, just like people, have multiple layers of being: physical (including electromagnetic and biochemical) emotional, mental, social, and spiritual layers. All matter is energy, and the physical body matter vibrates at a rate that is within our realm of sensory perception. Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine affect the physical-electromagnetic interface of the body, as well as other layers. The more subtle energetic layers are slowly becoming discernible by modern science, but are more intimately understood by mystical spiritual traditions.
Multidimensionality’s relevance becomes apparent when “something’s just not right,” even when a regular physical exam, lab work and other basic diagnostics may all be “normal.” The next series of articles illuminates the energetic and physical systems of the body. Simple at-home cures are included for common complaints. When routine diagnostics are normal, symptoms keep returning, or are not improved with these tips, it may be time to look for ways to address the subtle energetic layers of the body.
Systems of the physical body include the heart/lungs, gastrointestinal or digestive tract, kidneys/bladder, hormone/endocrine loops, skin/mucous membranes, nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems. A good, thorough physical exam is extremely important for all pets. Minimally, this should be done once annually, but more often for pediatric and geriatric pets, as well as pets with medical conditions. Behavior and nutrition should be a part of the basic physical exam.
