Complete Streets is no longer just a buzzword for the Obama Administration and the US Department of Transportation - it's policy.
Today, in his blog, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood announced that for all federal transportation projects henceforth, cyclists' and pedestrians' needs will be weighed equally with those of other forms of transportation.
"This is the end of favoring motorized transportation at the expense of non-motorized," wrote LaHood in today's post.
For more, here's a video from the recent National Bike Summit where Secretary LaHood lauds the League of American Bicyclists works and lets them know what's ahead.
