Urine therapy to improve health

You've seen the headlines, and you're wondering... can improved health be as close as your own urine?

The practice of Urine Therapy is thousands of years old, with tradition in nearly every culture.  It's a natural, biological treatment for many health conditions.  But how does it work?

The process can be viewed through the same type of principals as Homeopathy or Isopathy; Introducing a like, or same substance into the body,  which then allows the body to throw off the offending organism/condition. Your urine acts upon your body as a live food, providing you with an array of important nutrients, hormones, enzymes and natural antibodies that are unique to your own needs.  Because the body is in a constantly changing state, Urine therapy proves useful in reintroducing necessary elements in a natural, safe form.

Urine is a unique, sterile, by-product of blood filtration, containing excess elements not usable by the body at that time.  Urine passing from the body is approximately 95% water, with the remaining percentage a combination of urea, minerals, hormones, enzymes, antibodies and other elements.  Urea is an antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and vasodilator agent among other things, and is often found in lotions, ointments and supplements.

Urine therapy can be applied either internally or topically.  For topical use, it is best to allow the urine to sit  for a day or two.  After collecting, place in a dark glass bottle and allow to sit for 3-4 days before use.  Topical application is beneficial for many skin conditions including acne, psoriasis and eczema, as well as earaches, chicken pox and rashes such as poison ivy. 

Internally, urine has been promoted for a myriad of illnesses from mumps to diabetes to cancer.  It is also extremely beneficial for PMS, water retention and constipation.

To begin a urine therapy program, start with a clean collect, mid-stream from the first mornings urine.  Begin with only a few drops at a time, to allow the body to adjust to the changes.  Add 5-10 drops to a glass of water and stir or shake well.  You may increase drops each day until you reach a level that feels right for you. 

Take time to examine your diet before beginning urine therapy.  Cutting back on red meats, processed foods, soft drinks and salts is a good idea, as is increasing your intake of fresh vegetables.
