The Kids Pasta Project (KPP) won first prize in the Orton Family Foundation's Heart and Soul contest. . The contest called for photos depicting the heart and soul of a community. Entries came in from all across the nation, and KPP was finally voted the winner.
KPP was organized to provide a way for youth to learn the value of service to their community. The group serves the local area by preparing and selling fresh, healthy meals, with the profits going to help support local causes. As often as possible, local produce is used in the making of the dinners. Their vision is " inspiring community, one meal at a time".
March dinners are scheduled for March 15, 22, and 29 at the beautiful Scenic Mesa Ranch. The kids' first dinner was March 8, to benefit the Hotchkiss Fire Department Swift Water Rescue group. Prices are $10 for adults, $6 for kids and $8 for seniors. Yummy desserts are served for only $2 extra.
Anyone interested is invited to attend a dinner, and is asked to register in advance.
