An interesting interview took place yesterday on the Dan Fagan show. He interviewed Democratic candidate for governor Robert (Bob) Poe. Poe provided a surprising range of options for arresting
Poe spoke of the State needing to take greater risk in any pipeline involvement. He cited the Norwegian example in the development of the North Sea oil fields where
Overall, his business development background was readily apparent. He talked about Pebble Mine in terms of why were people against the project before the mining plan of operation had been submitted for review? That it made no sense to condemn something until the how and what of the operation was revealed. That it was unlikely that the mining plan would ignore the concerns stated to date regarding potential pollution of the rivers in the area and potential harm to salmon runs in those rivers.
Poe’s economic plans are viable, encouraging, and would work to revitalize
Poe suffers a lack of name recognition amongst the three Democrat candidates running for the governor’s office. Poe figured that Ethan Berkowitz had the best name recognition with Hollis French following and Poe coming in last. However, in terms of what has been said so far, and what is stated on the candidate’s web sites, Bob Poe has a good economic plan.

How the socialization policies of that party will mesh with economic development priorities went unstated.
It is questionable how Poe could pursue pro-development, pro-business policies in the face of the hostility traditionally shown development by the Democrats in
Poe thus far has revealed publically that he has a comprehensive grasp of
What is interesting is that Poe’s oil and gas views are very similar in scope where the financing and construction of a natural gas pipeline is concerned to those of Republican Bill Walters.
An interesting rumor is that Republican John Harris may be reconsidering his candidacy. It is rumored that he has not found the support to move forward with his campaign.
