Time for “Vinny’s Twenty” college football picks for Week 11. I pick 20 games each week involving teams in D-1 (aka FBS) in the state of Alabama, the SEC, matchup of two Top 25 teams and the best of the rest. No point spread here, just straight winners. Vinny’s Upsets…
Auburn over Georgia
This wouldn’t be shocking I know. Auburn has the better record and has the most to gain with wins the last two weeks against its biggest rivals. Georgia just cannot be trusted. They have some individual talent but they play so undisciplined. Mark Richt is pulling any player that commits a penalty in this game. We don’t know when they will be pulled or for how long. That’s how out-of-control and desperate that situation is that’s been an issue for several years. It’s better than doing nothing I suppose for Richt but it’s awfully difficult to reel-in kids that are so far gone. Despite the potential difficulty covering AJ Green and the home field advantage, I think the chaos on the Georgia side will help Auburn win this game.
Arizona over California
I’m going back to the PAC 10 who has been good to me in my upset specials the last two weeks (Oregon over USC and Stanford over Oregon.) This game isn’t on that level but Cal is a slight favorite at home. There’s still some doubt about Arizona around the country and the game is in Berkeley. The Bears will be without their best player in RB Jahvid Best. I like Arizona’s improved defense and special teams. I’m going with the Wildcats on the road.
