US Airways has announced that it will resume flights to Orlando neighbor, Florida's Space Coast connecting Melbourne, Florida with their primary hub at Charlotte, North Carolina. It has been twelve years since US Airways last served Melbourne Airport and the return is a welcome addition to service for the local community. The new flights will begin on February 11, 2010.
The three daily year-round flights between Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Melbourne International Airport will be operated by US Airways Express carrier PSA Airlines aboard 70-seat Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jets.
Melbourne will mark US Airways 15th destination served in the Sunshine State. Flights will be available to book on the US Airways web site beginning November 15.
