Tempe, Ariz. based US Airways Flight 413 from Charlotte to San Francisco, an Airbus A321 jet, was waiting on the taxiway for take-off clearance when it was struck by a US Airways A330 aircraft operating as Flight 704 from Charlotte to Frankfurt, Germany on June 5, 2010.
"We felt the aircraft tug," said an anonymous passenger on board. A few moments later it was reported that the Captain addressed the passengers and crew over the P.A. and said "the airplane behind us hit us, and we have to return to the gate."
Later, US Airways Flights 413 and 704 were canceled and both aircraft have been removed from service.
