Better health care on the fly: SFO has new on-site
pharmacy.
On the go and forgot to pack enough prescription medicine, maybe forgot it altogether? That kind of oversight can ruin your whole trip – unless you’ve got ready access to a real, live pharmacy. That’s precisely what passengers at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) now have.
Harmony Pharmacy & Health Care Centers has set up a full-service apothecary shop in Terminal 3. You’ll find it after you clear security. The chain lays claim to having the only airport pharmacies in the country with full-time pharmacists on premises. That means you don’t have to grab a cab and rush off-airport to fill your prescriptions.
Harmony Pharmacy provides drug utilization reviews for all its prescriptions, medical counseling right there at the store, and over-the-counter drug recommendations.
San Francisco International is gaining a well-deserved reputation as perhaps the best airport in the country when it comes to providing on-site medical care. Earlier this year the Dr. Lawrence A. Smookler medical Clinic, operated by St. Mary’s Medical Center, moved to its new location on the Departure Level of the International Terminal’s Main Hall. It’s open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
