
Oprah's show to end in 2011

After months of speculation, it was confirmed today that Oprah will end her popular daytime talk show in 2011.
"We have the greatest respect for Oprah and we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors, we do know anything she turns her hand to will be a great success," said a spokesman for the CBS Television Studios, which distributes her show.
"We look forward to working with her for the next several years, and hopefully afterwards as well."
According to ABC News, insiders report that Winfrey informed her staff of the decision after a company meeting, which was described as "emotional, supportive and respectful."
Winfrey's "Oprah" talk show debuted on television in 1986. From Michael Jackson to Tom Cruise to Sarah Palin, Winfrey's show has been an important platform for celebrities to both promote their work and rehab their image.
Oprah will make a public announcement on her Friday show.
