At this point, Naomi Campbell is known more for her volatile nature off the catwalk than her barrier-breaking walks on it.  With a history of public tantrums and violence towards those in her inner circle, Campbell appeared on the "Oprah" show to explain her behavior and, more importantly, just what is at the root of her anger.

Campbell first apologized for the many incidents she's been involved in over the years, including the accusation that she attacked her driver in March.

"I am ashamed of everything I've ever done," Campbell said. "I take responsibility for the things that I have done, and I do feel a great sense of shame."

But Naomi went deeper than just a mere apology, attempting to explain to Oprah why she "acts out" when things don't go her way.

"I think it comes from a deeper place than that with me," she said. "It comes from another type of emotional disorder, because it's not just, 'I don't get what I want. I throw.' It comes from, I think, an abandonment issue, and it comes from also just trying to build up a family around me that's not my immediate family. And if I feel a mistrust, then I really just ... all my cards go down."

Campbell's most recent headline came in late April, when an ABC News journalist probed the supermodel regarding speculation that she received a blood diamond as a gift from former Liberian president Charles Taylor. Campbell, clearly frustrated by the question, walked out of the interview. Upon exiting the room, she appeared to take a swipe at a cameraman, knocking over his camera in the process.

Campbell also told Oprah that while she is currently dealing with her anger issues, she's also a recovering drug addict.

"It made you feel like insatiable, but at the end, it was a destroyer. It's really a Devil's drug," said Campbell.
