Children of criminal illegals hurt classrooms

In case you haven't heard, there has been a huge cut in funding for schools in Los Angeles and the rest of the nation. So why are children of criminal illegal immigrants, who usually don't take education seriously, still in classrooms disrupting teachers, writing gang symbols on books, and continuously interrupting the learning process for other students?
Don't take this the wrong way: Not every illegal immigrant child is an educational terrorist. There are some who work hard and want to succeed in life. But what part of the word "illegal" do we not understand? Why is the limited funding for our schools being wasted on kids that aren't supposed to be here in the first place? If their families truly valued education (and in most cases, they don't), they can easily collect money from their liberal friends and educate their children at home or send them to a private school.
California cannot afford to house children of criminal illegal aliens in our classrooms. It's about time that these students be removed from classrooms.
Note to readers: The comments coming from illegal immigrants and their advocates about this article are staying up, no matter how bad they sound. Many illegal immigrants and their advocates are more hateful than the KKK could have ever dreamed of being. People need to see this.

Our leaders have failed us by not enforcing immigration laws. They have allowed us to be invaded and occupied by millions of criminal illegal aliens. Since 1986 all Presidents, Senators and Representatives have betrayed us year after year and now, they want to give these criminals amnesty. Make your voice heard in the 2010 election, call for the jailing of all criminal employers and the deportation of all criminal illegal aliens. Their crime is becoming rampant. Just 5 days ago an American boy was knifed to death by an illegal alien only because he was speaking English. If our government continues to refuse to protect our borders and deport these criminals, they may force American citizens to rely on the 2nd Amendment. We had to do that 233 years ago.

There we have it folks, Ipez "the illegal alien" or at a minimum "the illegal alien advocate" exhibits the racism inherent in the invasion of America by illegals. They (at least 85% of illegals are hispanics) scream "racism" when their criminal illegal activity is thwarted by the force of will of the American people who only want our immigration laws enforced and applied equally across the board regardless of color, creed, race or national origin.

Lisa, I taught public school for 28 years. The sons and daughters of illegal immigrants weren't the problem. The ones who caused the biggest headaches in my classroom were full blooded Americans, with their loud mouths and disrespectful behavior. Instead of focusing on pulling innocent kids from classrooms, why not educate their parents to become better moms and dads?
Lisa is correct, children of illegal aliens crowd the school system, not to mention they don't even bother to learn English. They are a nuisance that no one wants or needs. By the way Lpez and Lydia, Mexicans can't even run Mexico, let alone do anything in the US. Go home please, you waste everyone's time and money.
I have taught in public schools as well, although not as long as you have. You are correct: Some of the worst students are the White, American students. But their parents, no matter how bad they are (and trust me, some shouldn't even be parents), pay into the system and we should spend money to try and turn these kids around. There are children of illegal immigrants who are sweet, loving, and want to learn. However, a significant amount don't and why should we pay for them if they are here illegally?

Lisa, you raise a real issue but I think the tone of your piece is almost over the top in tone and aggressiveness. You make some generalizing statements about the families these students come from and whether they value education that I don't think are justifiable or right. There is lots of heat here, but not a whole lot of light and its the kind of angry response that seems to make conservatives feel good but is actually counterproductive to the goal of attaining a more sane immigration policy. You stoke the anger, but not the solution set with this draconian recommendation.
Thanks, Aaron, for your honest critique. If you ever taught in a classroom full of illegal immigrants like I have, I am sure you would understand more where my over-the-top anger is coming from.

Indeed there is a problem in this nation with regard to resource allocation and the prioritization therein. Some people will make reference to "stolen land" as their justification for "returning" today. The truth is that they are not seeking to return to "their land". They seek shelter in the SYSTEM that has been established via the United States which has more productively utilized the land and thus is attractive to them. Upon this land they seek to pursue education, public safety and employment.
Among your critics are those who purport to be "progressives". They like to think that they operate from a higher moral standing and a greater commitment to civility. The truth of the matter is that they are not "on the dime" to address the resource allocation challenges that their theories encumber. If their own schools experience a funding shortfall they will be seen protesting at the state capital. As long as they can outsource their demands - they are content.
I went through school in California 60 years ago. The dropout rate in high school hovered close to zero and the state education system was recognized as the best in the nation. Now, I understand that some districts have 50% and higher dropouts. This is tragic for the teachers and American students. Illegal aliens are major contributors to the fall in standing and use up diminished resources they have no right to.
Just privatize education. Problem solved.
Lisa...I agree with you. I would also encourage you to leave all the racist comments up, so others can see them. Black people need to be disabused of the fantasy of "brown and black" joining hands as minorities to beat down whitey, ain't going to happen, half of Latinos, according to the polls I see label themselves as white and Hispanic. The ones who don't mainly Chicanos from Cali who want to be Aztec and hate whites, also tend to hate blacks more...so...Illegal immigration is going to be a continuation of the 19th century. Discriminated against (at the time) non-white Southern Europeans and Jews came here and stepped on black folks heads and became white. Hispanics will do the same and we will be at the bottom again unless we get smart.

I agree with Alex. If education were privatized, this would not be a problem. On a broader note, if there were fewer social services, we would not attract as many illegal immigrants.
It is also strange that a piece of paper makes such a difference to people. Is a white child who was born here, but is lazy, fails in school, commits crime, and has welfare parents who live off the system really more deserving of an education than an immigrant child?
I would think the problem is laziness and abusing social services, not whether you have a piece of paper giving you a certain status and "right" to be within some arbitrary boundary of land.
Lisa, great piece. I am white and enjoy reading your articles. To me we are ALL American first, except for the criminal illegals. I and my wife are extremely involved with our 6 year old sons education. It angers me to see how much of our resources are used up educating and teaching English to "anchor babies".
The criminals like to say how we stole their land. By what right are they insinuating such garbage? The Spanish conquered the native people and integrated, then the Europeans conquered and integrated. I do not believe they know their own history.

The US conquered mejico in 1848 and bought "aztlan" for approximately $1 Trillion in todays money. The "land" was paid for and will always be part of the US, even if it becomes a third-world area
Lisa, Thanks for speaking up and trying to save our country. The illegals should obviously NEVER have been allowed to cross the border. Unfortunately, most Americans nowdays are indoctrinated and brainwashed to the point that they will still not know anything is wrong, even as Rome burns again.

Illegal aliens are destroying this Country, and one would have to be almost blind not to see this. How much longer do we have to support these illegal aliens? How much longer do we have to school their illegal alien children? How much longer are we going to let them have our jobs? How much longer are we going to put up with all the crime, stolen identities, forged documents, fake green cards? How much longer are we going to allow these illegal aliens to send money out of this Country and bring our Country down? Oh, amnesty will correct all this. WRONG! Nothing will change except we wouldn't be able to call them illegal aliens any more. Let's get rid of these illegal aliens! Let's get them back to their own Country where they belong!
