Adam Lambert gave us a flashback of the Britney and Madonna kiss that stole the show at the 2003 Video Music Awrds. He took it up a notch with his performance of his new single "For Your Entertainment" at tonight's American Music Awards. It what was promised to be a innovative provocative performance and it seemed right up to par, with sexual fierceness lighting up the stage. Lambert, at one moment of the performance lip locked with his straight keyboard player, you may even call it a quicky make out session. It was a moment that made your jaw drop and the audience at Nokia Theater literally saw their jaw drop as a huge mirror was on stage to show the live viewers thier own shock.
The performance was one of leather, leashes, grinding and all around a sexy show. He dragged one of his female dancers across the stage, threw up in his middle finger, shoved the face of his male dancer into his crotch and got steamingly close to all the others on stage. He did not miss a beat, hitting the notes that made him famous on Idol and stomping on the stage with no hesitation. This performance was Lambert's first since his days on American Idol and was his opportunity to display his own artistic stage presence and that he did. Pushing the envelope possibly even further than the recent queen of dramatic stage shows, Lady Gaga, Lambert has debuted his new single live and given viewers a taste of what is to come. All eyes will be on Lambert as he launches his new album "For Your Entertainment" and begins to hit more award show stages. It is on these award show stages where we see the most wild and extreme performances, Lambert is now one of the gang. Tonight on his website, he let the fans know he had fun at the AMAs and left them with, "All hail freedom of expression and artistic integrity. :) fans: I adore u."
His new album comes out tomorrow, November 23, titled "For Your Entertainment." The American Music Awards stage was also graced by performances from 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, The Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Eminem, Green Day, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Mary J Blige, Nelly Furtado, Rihanna, Soshy, Timbaland, Shakira and Whitney Houston.
Taylor Swift, who was unable to attend, did win the most awards with 5, followed by Michael Jackson. Lambert closed the show with his performance. Did the performance shock you? Was it the best performance of the night?

When he kissed the woman I thought it was weird - he's gay! I said to my lover - "how perverted." Not sure I would call it a kiss. If I wanted to make a big show of lip locking with someone without it meaning anything, maybe that's how I'd do it.
Oops - I guess that was a guy he was kissing. Didn't look like a guy. Anyway, what's wrong with a kiss, even if a theatrical version of one? He says it was spontaneous, but the AMA show kept giving promos for his spot, implying that it was going to be controversial, I thought. Someone wrote about parents turning the channel. You'd think they'd have thought of that before with all the crotch grabbing going on.
I do not think Adam Lambert shocked the viewers and audience but rather
disgusted them. Read all the blogs posted last night and today. He made a
huge mistake and I think it will cost him many CD sales tomorrow. I, for one,
will NOT buy his CD as planned. Furthermore, he really sucked vocally. Can't stand all his screaming and the tongue bit.......YUCK.
WHY DO THEY BLEEP OT THE SWEAR WORDS AND THEN LET THAT AIR?
Good for him. Why are women entertainers allowed to do whatever they want and Adam Lambert can't kiss a guy? How many times do we watch half naked women making out on stage, tv, movies etc. Everyone needs to stop being so judgemental. Good for him I say!
