The campaign FilterForGood partners with the Sundance Film Festival

The 25th annual Sundance Film Festival running from January 15-25th, 2009, this year will partner for the first time with the FilterForGood campaign. Brita and Nalgene will be providing reusable bottles to the attendees of the festival according to a press release.

This effort will eliminate the need for over 50,000 plastic water bottles that normally would have been thrown away. With the resuable bottles, attendees can refill their bottles at one of several Brita Hydration Stations throughout the festival. Held at Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah, the Sundance Film Festival is the premiere showcase of U.S. and international independent films.

Before attendees even get to Sundance, however, they can tune into the Sundance Channel for eco-friendly tips and more information on the FilterForGood campaign. Brita has previously partnered with NBC's the "Biggest Loser" show where contestants and trainers switched to reusable bottles for their hydration needs.

According to the press release, “The FilterForGood campaign not only benefits the environment by reducing plastic bottle waste and resource consumption, but it also saves money by cutting out the expense of bottled water,” said Drew McGowan, Brita Senior Group Manager. “From homes to film sets and festivals, leveraging this eco-friendly initiative could help groups stay within budget, especially during tough economic times.”
