Oklahoma City adoptive families should be aware that "Find My Family," a reality show with an adoption theme, will air on ABC beginning Monday, November 23.
The show was created by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's producer with a goal "to bring families back together," according to abc.com. The promotional commercials airing on ABC focus on adoption storylines, and the summary of the first show reveals it is about a birthfamily searching for the child they placed for adoption.
Absent from the promotions and the online description are any mention of adoptive families. Members of the adoption community will be vigilantly watching the first episode and forming opinions related to its fair representation of adoptees, birthparents, and adoptive parents.
Oklahoma City's local ABC affiliate KOCO encourages feedback and provides an online form to submit your comments.
