Universal Media Studios and Wolf Films are now in production on the new one hour drama series 'Law & Order: Los Angeles'. The show is a new version of the classic court procedural based in Los Angeles. The original Law & Order series recently ended after 20 seasons, leaving it tied with Gunsmoke as the longest-running scripted show in television history.
Alfred Molina has signed on to play Deputy District Attorney Morales, and Skeet Ulrich will play Detective Rex Winters. Molina recently completed a Tony-nominated run on Broadway in Red.
Law & Order creator Dick Wolf is back and will co-executive produce with Blake Masters, who was creator and head writer of the critically acclaimed Showtime television series Brotherhood. Rene Balcer, Peter Jankowski, and Chris Misiano round out the producing team.
Casting is now ongoing for principal actors and extras. Details on how actors and extras can submit to the show's casting directors is posted on the following blog:

Shooting will begin on August 2, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.
In related news, executive producer Dick Wolf has also recently signed on to write two novels for the HarperCollins imprint William Morrow. The first novel will revolve around a terrorist attack planned for New York City over a crowded 4th of July weekend. Throughout Wolf's career, he has won several awards including an Emmy Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

WESLEY MATTHEWS
A PORTLAND KIND OF GUY
A STORY OF HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION
The Portland Trail Blazers have signed guard Wesley Matthews, it was announced today by General Manager Rich Cho. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A restricted free agent, Matthews signed an offer sheet with the Trail Blazers on July 10. The Utah Jazz elected not to exercise its right of first refusal and match the offer.
Wesley is a great fit for our team both on and off the court, said Cho.
