Mandeville Films and Walt Disney Pictures have teamed up to produce the new Muppet film, and auditions information is now available. It was announced at D23 Expo that the title would be 'The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made.' The title was later referred to as 'The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time,' and more recently simply 'The Muppets'.
The film will mainly star many of the original Muppets. Brian and John Henson, the sons of the late Muppets creator Jim Henson, will do voice-overs for several characters. Other cameos will be voiced voiced by Ben Stiller, George Clooney and other familiar voices. Jason Segel will star as the human lead with whom the Muppets associate on their adventures. Segal wrote the script with pal Nicholas Stoller.

Shooting will take place in Los Angeles from September 20, 2010 through November 23, 2010 with a release date of December 25, 2011.
