Twentieth Century Fox Television and Dreamworks Television are teamed up to produce the big budget epic family adventure drama series 'Terra Nova'. Peter Chernin's Chernin Entertainment is one of the production companies also working on Terra Nova. Chernin was Rupert Murdoch's former right hand man at News Corporation.
Two time Primetime Emmy winner Alex Graves has been brought on board to direct the series. Graves has served as executive producer and director on such shows as The West Wing, The Nine, and Fringe.
The direct-to-series project, which was extremely well received at the network's upfront presentation, revolves around a family from the year 2149 when the planet is dying who are transported back to pre-historic Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization. Most episodes of the show will work as standalone stories.
Fox Entertainment president, Kevin Reilly, said that the show will have an "enormous production commitment". They will be using writers from the hugely successful drama series 24. Fox has ordered 13 episodes of the series, and the network wants to debut the series the week after the Super Bowl, which also airs on FOX this year.
Extensive post-production and visual special effects will be involved in the project. The show is under AFTRA contract.

hello my names letitia routledge and im from the uk/london im 14 years old and i'd love to be able to audtuion for tera nova because it amazing ever since my dad has got me to watch it i;ve wanted to be apart of it. So far ive been in a viral for crime stoppers. I also attend a Theatre school called Mishmak Youth Theatre, every Saturday from 10am-1pm. I take part in a 1 hour dance class, singing class, and drama class. As I am a part of Mishmak, I got the chance to audition for a viral for the Crimestoppers Charity. I got picked as one of the people to be in the advert. I have also had the chance to be in Mauro Diagro’s music video for “A in love” through Mishmak.
The Crime Stoppers Viral included a long day of filming, but was an incredible experience. The music video also included a day of filming, it involved miming, dancing and naturalistic acting, this was a day where I learnt a lot about filming, and it was a great day!
