The new CW hit series "Hellcats" is currently casting principal actors, day players, and extras to appear on the show for the fall 2010-11 season. Casting for larger roles takes place in Los Angeles, and the smaller roles and extras are cast in Vancouver, BC where the show is filmed.
The cheerleading teen drama comedy-drama series is based on the book "Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders" by journalist Kate Torgovnick. Disney Channel alum Aly Michalka plays Marti Perkins, a Tennessee pre-law student who utilizes her old gymnastics skills to obtain a cheerleading scholarship, and High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale plays Hellcats cheer captain Savannah Munroe.
Primetime Emmy winner Kevin Murphy serves as the series creator and executive producer. Murphy has worked as a writer and producer for many series, most notably Desperate Housewives. Paul Becker is the show's head choreographer and has choreographed such films as The Wicker Man, The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, Talk to Me, So You Think You Can Dance Canada, and the for Jonas Brothers.
