Madonna isn't just the face of Dolce & Gabbana these days, she's also a co-designer. The pop superstar worked with the Italian company to product six pairs of sunglasses that will be released in May. The eyewear features an MDG logo and will be produced and distributed by Luxottica. The frames will retail for around $250 and will be available at Dolce & Gabbana stores, Sunglass Hut locations and select optical shops.
Overall, the shapes in the collection are nothing to get excited about. There are rounded ovals, rectangular shields, oversized rectangles and a rounded pair that is slightly rimless on the sides. Most notable are the more square-ish shapes with pronounced brow bars in silver and gold that seem to ooze 70s-era coolness. Otherwise, the collection looks like any other, aside from the MDG logos on the temples. Promotional photos seem to show the frames in mostly black color options, although hopefully there will be others available in stores.
You can find Sunglass Hut locations at the Westside Pavilion, the Westfield Century City mall, the Beverly Center, and the Third Street Promenade.
