Article History SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - The third annual Arte di Gesso Tribute Exhibit at Live Worms Gallery in San Francisco features “other” work by chalk artists who participated in the North Beach Festival in June. Here’s your chance to see what these artists do at other times and with other materials when they aren’t crouching on the ground rubbing their fingers into the asphalt. Artworks include paintings, etchings, screen prints, paper sculpture, drawings and collage.
Additional events in conjunction with the show include play readings of work by Ignacio Zulueta, one of the artists, at 7 p.m. Thursday; poetry night with George Tsongas at 7 p.m. Friday and a “beatnik-hop” at 9 p.m. Saturday in which visitors may revisit North Beach circa 1958, with bongos, berets and beards.
All events are free; the gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The show runs through Sunday. Live Worms is at 1345 Grant Ave., San Francisco. Call (415) 819-0500 for information.

Where's the photo that's with this article in today's paper? I wanted to email it out with the article - ? (Why is there a map instead of the photo? Presumably, if you read the paper, you know where SF is - ?) Best -

LOVE KAHLO! I saw on SFMOMA's website that they've actually extended their hours for this exhibition: until 9:45 p.m. on Thursdays, and 7:45 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. I'm going this weekend, can't wait!

I thought this show of Beili Liu was fantastic in the truest sense. Thanks for the tip. I think it should get more attention. Sean Monohan

In place of the exhibit, the San Francisco Art Institute should post a wall-full of the threatening mail it has received. The animal-killing exhibit sounds inexcusable, but violent threats are also inexcusable, and a display of them may make a similar point about humanity and inhumanity.
