A Dundalk sex offender -- who lured young boys to his house with alcohol, marijuana and a pool table -- pleaded guilty Friday to child pornography charges in federal court.

Robert Paul Layton, 48, faces up to 25 years in prison for child pornography.

Layton also faces charges of physically abusing teen-agers in Baltimore County Circuit Court.

As many as 11 children have come forward to accuse a Layton of abusing them, according to Assistant State’s Attorney Susan Hazlett.

Baltimore County police arrested Layton back in February, accusing him of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy and soliciting sex from a 14-year-old boy, but additional children have spoken up about Layton, Hazlett said.

Layton is scheduled to stand trial on charges of abusing the two boys in Baltimore County on Oct. 10.

Baltimore County police arrested Layton on Feb. 6 after a 14-year-old boy told an officer at Dundalk Middle School that Layton solicited him for sex, charging documents said.

He also told the officer that his 13-year-old friend had engaged in a sex act with Layton, police said.

Investigation revealed that Layton abused the 13-year-old and solicited the 14-year-old in January while the boys played pool at Layton’s house with friends, police said.

Layton lured the boys to his house by offering them marijuana, alcohol and letting them play billiards, police said.

After Layton’s arrest, detectives said they recovered several nude photographs of boys during a search of his residence.

Layton is a registered child sex offender in Maryland.

Court records show Layton was convicted of three counts of a third-degree sex offense in Prince George’s County in 1995.
