SolarCity secures $21M in venture capital

Foster City, Calif. (Map, News) - Foster City’s SolarCity, a solar system installation company, has received $21 million in new investments with the closure of its latest round of fundraising. The financing was provided by lead investor Draper Fisher Jurvetson with additional contributions from JP Morgan (JPM) and Elon Musk, chairman of both SolarCity and the San Carlos-based electric car company Tesla motors.
