Police across two states are searching for a 32-year-old man they consider  "dangerous" who escaped from a Maryland hospital.

Paul D. McGlothlin was being held in the Harford County Detention Center on burglary and theft  charges, Maryland State Police said. On Aug. 14, he was sent to Spring Grove State Hospital in Cantonville, where he escaped through a window about 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses reported seeing McGlothlin in both Harford and Baltimore counties, according to police.

Pennsylvania authorities also are searching for McGlothin, where he faces arrest on strong arm rape charges.

McGlothlin is described as a white male, 5-feet, 10-inches tall weighing 220 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, a mustache and goatee. He may have cuts and scatches on his right arm.

Police said McGlothlin is known to have lived in the Aberdeen and Whiteford areas of Maryland and in Delta, Pa.

McGlothlin should be considered dangerous, and anyone with information on his location is urged to call 911.
