Aberdeen, Md. (Map, News) - Aberdeen police arrested a man Monday for allegedly inviting an 11-year-old girl into his truck and soliciting her for sex.
Police were called to the area of Pritchard Avenue on Saturday by a woman reporting that her daughter had been approached by a man in a blue truck, who tried to entice her into the truck and asked her for sex, said spokesman Sgt. Fred Budnick.
Police were unable to locate the vehicle until Monday afternoon, when it was reported that a truck matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle had returned to the area.
Officers located and arrested 45-year-old Miguel Antonio Perez, a resident of the 600 block of Holly Drive. He was charged with attempted kidnapping of a child under 16, attempted second-degree rape, attempted second-, third- and fourth-degree sex offense, stalking and second-degree assault.
Perez is being held at the Harford County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
