examiNation SF: How do you feel about The City's lack of success in getting murderers off the streets?

I think that you should assign the task to Supervisor Chris Daly since he thinks he can make it all better. Let's see what he can really do with a real problem, one that matters to everyone in SF. Plus, it will keep him out of trouble and he can truly earn his pay.

The City of Hate will only become safer when Dictator Daly and his drooling followers are replaced by solid, focused , competent LEADERS.

I say bust the pot smokers and cyclists who are breaking the law. Don't look the other way when people use drugs (it's illegal, you know) or ride their bike erratically in traffic (laws of the road, remember?) Chris Daly & Co are the problem here. They blame the cops for having the nerve to fight crime and as another poster noted, the people committing these crimes and subsequently being arrested are black and brown. Our streets will only be safer when violent thugs are locked up. I guarantee you that every violent thug out there has a criminal record and has been cut a break on sentencing. These scumbags are free to roam and prey on the good people, and know that no serious consequences await them. Cut the crap and get tough with even the most "minor" infractions like Rudy did in NYC. Liberals need to drop this nonsensical view and get realistic about society and its ills or we will end up like the Roman Empire.

Perhaps if the SFPD focused more on investigating violent crime instead of busting pot smokers and cyclists and sending journalists to the feds and jail, we might be safer on our streets. Chris Daly is correct--the cops just don't want to do their jobs.

SF is The City of Hate. SF spews hate 24/7. They hate the world, each other and themselves. What is surprising is that the kill rate isn't higher still.

A gutless district attorney who will never seek the death penalty and kicks loose felons for time served in jail rather than send them to prison, is a big part of the equation. She is ineffective, letting drug dealers off with "treatment" if they just say they are drug users. Our liberal courts simply are tired of seeing nothing but black and brown faces before them and out of sheer sympathy they give criminals a slap on the wrist. Emboldened, these hoods graduate rather quickly to violent crimes until they hit The Big Time- murder. The cops are trying to do as good a job as allowed but with such anti-police groups parading as "civilian oversight" agencies (Office of Citizen Complaints, CopWatch, ACLU, and various black groups) they are hamstrung by the very citizens they have sworn to serve and protect. These people just hate cops and demand that people "stop snitching", all comfortably knowing that the politicians will never condemn or criticize them. Pathetic, but true.
