Will you squeeze in a vacation before school starts?
No doubt in my mind that the eagles will fly away leaving skins in the dust. The game will be over in the first quarter and most fans will go home because it will be so damn lop-sided. MNF will be at its zenith tonite.
One thing's for sure: Every time there is a skins game, the pizza guys give you a dollar off for every touchdown scored by the home team and I love that, even though for everytouchdown I eat, I gain 10 pounds!
What will happen is what happens a lot: In crucial moments, the skins will drop the ball, so as to speak. Have they ever delivered in a high-profile game: seldom. Ever since they moved to RALJON of whatever that place is called, the team has been JINXED. This has nothing to do with the coaches or the QBs who have come and gone. The grounds are inauspicious.
I am a 22 year old homless female I tried to get on the section list recentlly and the list has been closed since March of 2007 there isn't enough space. This is unacceptable that a regular common person cannot afford a regular apt here and then not even be able to get section 8 or even have to sit on a 2 month waiting list to get in a homless shelter this area is out of control. I was displaced from my parents house from the County and they do not do anything to help me get a house to get full Custody of my son back. That is one of their conditions ot get custody. So as it loks I will miss 3 or more year sof his life being homless for this countys failure to help Us Born citizens of this county. Maybe if we stopepd allowing illeags to use our county services legit people here would have a chance. When I am at the Dept of Family services it is 75% fulled by immagrants getting services heck because i make $350 bux a week i make too much for Food Stamps! Something is wrong in Fairfax!
Gross has obviously lost touch with the safety professionals which she pretends to represent - look at her voting history (public record) and she is not the friend to public safety employees that she tries to pay lip service too. Why? Maybe because she knows that only 50% of them are her constituents due to having to live outside the confines of Fairfax County, lest try to raise three kids in a two bedroom condo.
We need to recognize the sacrifices Fairfax County Public Safety professionals, teachers, and other county government employees make to serve the community, and call the situation what it is - a debacle; as opposed to trying to sugar coat the hardship that many county employees endure - not because they WANT to Ms. Gross, but because they HAVE to.
Most people dont live in Fairfax County for one reason- traffic. I lived there for one year before I couldnt handle it anymore. On my days off, it would take me 20 min to go 5 miles.
With the uninhibited development around the Tysons Corner area (and among others within the county) the road system is simply not capable of handling anymore volume. VDOT is notorious for dragging its feet on road construction and improvements. And the Metro coming to Tysons? A joke. The snarling traffic in the NoVa area is primarily caused by commuters coming from south or from Maryland. The Metro has decided to extend its rail from DC to Tysons. This will do nothing except bring rif-raf to this area from DC. A smart decision would be to connect, say, the Betheda station to Tysons or Franconia to Tysons.
What a mess Fairfax is.
I work for Fairfax County, but can't afford to live there. One element; housing/living costs rise so quickly while employee salaries stagnate. When Supervisors and County Executive staff consider the limits they impose on employee compensation, they might connect that the money they save at the expense of employees they lose in tax-revenue from productive middle-income citizens.
When i hear talk about those of us who can't afford to live there, teachers, police & fire workers are used as examples. While general county employee wages have stagnated, uniformed public safety employees have enjoyed significant increases in their wage structures, and teachers benefit from the school systems proportionately larger allocation increases in the county budget. All general county employees; administrative support, human & social service, parks & rec staff are as affected, if not more, by the county's lack of affordable housing and adequate staff pay increases.
I ride with others to DC so I can get into town on time. Sure I can afford DC but I'd never live there, so the same logic for me would apply for fairfax. If your roots are someplace you wont uproot for some job?
