Howard cops seek mall offender

WASHINGTON (Map, News) - Howard County police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man committing sex offenses at the Columbia Mall. The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, 25-30 years old, with a medium build, approximately 6 ft. tall. One victim said he is best identified by his very crooked teeth, according to police.

Detectives released photos of the man on Tuesday and are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-313-3200.

Police at the mall were contacted June 24 by a 16-year-old girl and her mother who said a man approached the girl from behind in the parking lot and reached under her skirt. Officers reviewed video from inside the mall and saw the man following the girl with what appeared to be a camera concealed by a jacket or bag.

The man was also seen following the girl and her mother out of the mall into the parking lot, according to police.
