The Crystal Palace USA coaching staff has one thing on its mind - the postseason.

As they ready Crystal Palace for a chance to add to its seven-game unbeaten streak Saturday, co-coaches Pete Medd and Jim Cherneski are looking at the schedule.

Crystal Palace (3-4-4) is sitting in sixth place in the 10-team division with 13 points - trailing fourth-place Harrisburg by six points and fifth-place Western Mass by three. The top four teams will make the playoffs in August.

“We definitely feel that we’re one of the best teams in the league,” Cherneski said.

Crystal Palace will have its chance to creep up on Western Mass when the Pioneers make the trip to Annapolis for Saturday’s game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The Pioneers (4-4-4) have won their last two games, while Crystal Palace is 3-0-4 in its last seven. With a victory, Crystal Palace would move into a tie for fifth place.

“It’s a must-win for us,” Cherneski said. “I think we’re going to go out and get a victory. We have the personnel to do it.”

Leading the attack against the Pioneers will be 19-year-old Harold Uquilo and five-year veteran Gary Brooks. The two have played one game together — a friendly against the Virginia Legacy Thursday.

Uquilo scored a goal in the 2-2 tie, and Medd left the field knowing who he’ll look to for offensive support.

“We’re going to rely on those two to lead the attack,” Medd said. “Having those two up front together is going to raise our level… They’ll compliment each other very well.”

Crystal Palace has either beaten or tied each of the top three teams in the USL-2 — Richmond, Charlotte and Cleveland — since an 0-4 start to the season and will spend the rest of the season playing teams closer to the bottom of the division.

Of the nine games Crystal Palace has left, five of them are with either Western Mass or Harrisburg, which Medd believes could lead to a playoff berth.

“I think we’re set up perfectly,” Medd said. “We’ve faced all the top teams. Our schedule is favorable. I think we’re clicking at the right time. We’re positioned absolutely perfectly to make a run. This is all you can ask for. It would be great.”
