WASHINGTON (Map, News) - A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the theft of a cache of weapons from an FBI agent’s vehicle in Capitol Hill earlier this year, according to the agency. The boy was charged with theft, firearms offenses and tampering with a government vehicle, FBI spokeswoman Debbie Weierman said.

The teenager was not identified because he was charged as a juvenile.

Seven weapons, including high-powered rifles, ammunition and body armor were stolen from an FBI sport utility vehicle. Police recovered a handgun several months ago but did not find any of the stolen weapons on the boy. The SUV was one of 20 vehicles that were broken into at a government lot on 1000 Water St. SW.

The car was fully equipped because it was issued to a member of the FBI’s response team who had to be ready to move at all times, authorities said.

Video cameras captured the images of five men breaking into the vehicles. Weierman said more arrests could come.

“The investigation is continuing,” she said.
