It hasn’t taken long for the Casey Cares Foundation to recover.

Displaced by a six-alarm fire that leveled its Arbutus offices and destroyed nearly everything it had on June 3, the foundation — which provides programming to critically ill children and their families — has since found new office space and quickly returned to work.

“We are up and running; we are fully operational,” said founder and Executive Director Casey Baynes.

“I don’t know if I’m ready to use the word ‘normal,’ ” Baynes said, describing the difficulty of moving on without the small things — rolodexes, memorabilia — lost in the blaze.

None of that has stymied the foundation, however, which had moved into a vacant parking lot before receiving new, donated office from St. John’s Properties space this week.

The foundation will hold a fundraiser June 23 at the Sheraton in downtown Baltimore. For more information, go to www.caseycaresfoundation.org.
