The LPGA Pro-Am will kick-off today, and run through tomorrow, with local amateurs being paired-up with the professionals in a two-day event.
On Wednesday, fans can look on as the players will get in a practice round before Thursday’s official tournament kick-off.
Also on Wednesday, an LPGA-sponsored junior clinic will be held at the Bulle Rock driving range.
Fans hoping to get photos of the course and their favorite golfers can do so for the first three days, but once Thursday rolls around, there will be no cameras allowed on the course.
On Thursday morning, the ladies of the LPGA will get down to business, teeing off in hopes of ending the weekend Sunday with a date with Ronald McDonald. The McDonald’s restaurant mascot is on-hand every year to hand out the trophy for one of the tour’s four majors.
Over the last five years, though, just two golfers have held the trophy. Se Ri Pak, who won the ‘06 and ‘02 titles, and Annika Sorenstam — the back-to-back-to-back winner from 03-05 — are the only golfers to win the title in the past five seasons. Bulle Rock first hosted the championship in 2004.
Course and tour officials expect roughly 100,000 fans for the week-long event. But for those who cannot get out to the course to see any of the action live, the LPGA Championship will be aired on The Golf Network.
Fans attending Thursday through Saturday could get in at discounted prices. Thursday is Senior Day, when anyone over 50 can get in for free. Friday is Harford County Day, when anyone arriving before 11 a.m. will receive a free pass for the weekend. Finally, Saturday is Military Appreciation Day, allowing members of all branches of service — active or retired — free admission to the course.

Does anyone know anything about Kevin Dunleavy? If he's from Texas and about 29 then I think I was friends with him in high school (Klein). If anyone would know how to get in touch with him, that would be great. I tried calling but the lady I talked to didn't know anything about him. bronwen.iuen@gmail.com

Mr.Dunleavy-A Baltimore boy, Church Waesche, won the 16-17 division of the Gorin on his 16th birthday and was the runner up in the Bobby Bowers last week. Any reason you continue to focus on the Washington region golfers instead of the Baltimore boys?

Michelle should just be Michelle. A pro golfer and a college student. Break away from parental, sponsor, present managment domination and what the LPGA wants. Find her groove make her own decisions and RELAX! At 17 going on to 18 you are considered a young adult. It's time to break away from the nest and feel the air flutter her wings.
