The department has commissioned a phone survey of 1,200 households to get a baseline measure of health issues, personal safety, diet and exercise, and school activities.
One hundred of the households will be Hispanic and 100 Asian to get an accurate picture of the county’s immigrant communities, health department officials said.
Parents and youth ages 10 to 17 will be asked separate questions, ranging from diet to seat belt use to drug use to sexual experience. Participants will receive a check for $10.
