BALTIMORE (Map, News) - The Baltimore County Council killed a bill prohibiting warehouse retail stores like Costco, BJ’s and Sam’s Club in manufacturing zones.
The bill, voted on at a legislative session Monday night, targeted a proposed Costco location in the 1100 block of Taylor Avenue in the district, represented by the bill’s sponsor Councilman Vince Gardina.
Gardina was the only member who voted for the bill, which he said reserved manufacturing zones for large employment centers and kept big box wholesale clubs from residential areas.

Baltimore is one of the oldest cities in this nation; it is rich with a tradition of invention, industrialism, and innovation. It should return to it's former glory...back in the late 1800's and 1900's it was said "If you want tomke money, you will need to go to Baltimore"...

Value City is closing 37 of its 113 stores nationwide yet 7 of 8 of its MD stores are closing! How many jobs is that? How many other businesses will be affected by the MD closings.
