An Edgewood man pleaded guilty Tuesday to stealing computer equipment from the IRS and selling some of it on eBay, making him eligible for up to 10 years in prison.

The IRS had employed Kevin Lackland, 43, as an information technology specialist since December 2003. Over the course of nearly three years, he stole computers, monitors, hard drives and other equipment valued at a total of $20,647, and made about $3,736 selling it online, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Lackland is scheduled to be sentenced July 30. –
