Constellation Energy Partners LLC, formed and partly owned by Baltimore’s Constellation Energy, announced that it acquired coal bed methane properties in Kansas and Oklahoma from EnergyQuest Resources LP for about $115 million.

Partial funding for the purchase came from Constellation’s simultaneous closing of a $60 million private placement of common units to third-party investors.

The rest of the money came from funds available under the company’s revolving credit facility.

Constellation Energy Partners was formed to focus on acquisition and development of oil and natural gas properties.

As of Tuesday, Constellation Energy Group was trading at $92.36, up 14 cents, or .15 percent
